If your goal is to confirm spouses are not working and do not have other insurance available in the least invasive manner, than our 3 minute survey which includes a few questions and an attestation will suffice.
If your goal is to go deeper we can also require employees to submit either paystubs or a recently completed 1040 showing spousal income (this will directionally confirm working status and income level). If the paystub does not show health insurance a letter from the spouse's employer/HR department will suffice.
