HR Best Practices provides actionable, results-oriented healthcare auditing and cost containment services.  We “go to the mat” on our clients’ behalf to ensure their respective goals are met or exceeded.  As a result, it is not uncommon to be retained year-over-year by the same clients.  A list of our differentiators follows:

ROI Guarantee – We are the only healthcare auditing and cost containment firm that actually “walks the talk.”  To that end, we only get paid when our clients yield a 100% ROI.  Please note that ROI Guarantee opportunities are only available to self-insured groups with greater than 1,000 subscribers.  We also offer our services on a fixed fee and performance-based basis.

Change Agents – Our “end-to-end” knowledge enables us to effectuate change.  Given our data and technology-driven approach coupled with our diverse backgrounds, we are able to identify the root cause and help our clients design and implement change.  This is an important distinction because many audit firms merely generate “suspect lists” or publish “thick, but     non-actionable reports.”  Our team can help identify improvements in all areas from ASO contract design to business processes.

Reconciliation Technology – HR Best Practices is the only firm that publishes a “one button” reconciliation technology solution.  Essentially, we stage our clients’ census, enrollment, and claims data and pre-populate reconciliation queries.  Our clients simply then press “one button” and they’re on their way to saving money!

Turnkey – Over 95% of the work is done by the HR Best Practices team.  Once the clients send us the plan information and census data, the HR Best Practices team goes to work.  At times throughout the project, our clients need to validate suspects or participate in status calls – this generally represents about 5% of the overall effort.  It’s that easy!

Technology Suite – We pride ourselves in our ability to create custom data warehouses for each client.  This approach helps provide assurance that we will meet or exceed our clients’ exact business needs and achieve results that make sense for our clients.

Independence – As a result, the spirit of independence is baked into our culture.  The founder of HR Best Practices worked at Price Waterhouse for 8 years prior to starting this company.  Further, we do not sell insurance nor do we do vendor selection.  We simply work with client data and plan designs to audit plans and to identify financial savings in the most objective manner.

Comprehensiveness – In order to meet the business needs of our clients, we must explore many facets of our clients business including, but not limited to: contracts, plan designs, data, processes, and service level agreements.  In fact, we often “go the extra mile” to ensure success.   For example, we are the only firm in America that actually integrates time & attendance data from timekeeping systems to provide assurance “minimum hours worked” provisions are complied with.

To that end, many of our clients portray us as forensic auditors since we approach any given problem from many different directions.

Multi-disciplined Team – Unlike other auditing and cost containment firms, we bring a multi-disciplined team to each project.  For example, many of our team members have experience in multiple areas including: auditing, medical claims, prescription drug claims, disability, worker’s compensation, payroll, technology, finance, benefits administration, and ERISA law.   As a result, our clients’ expectations are often exceeded.

Problem Solvers – It’s quite simple.  Our clients have complicated problems.  HR Best Practices has the requisite technology, knowledge and tools to solve our clients most complicated problems.

Passion - Our passion for controlling healthcare costs in an out-of-control environment truly sets HR Best Practices apart from the competition.  As a result, our passion helps our team consistently deliver results that meet or exceed our clients’ expectations.

Let us demonstrate to you how we can solve your problems in a cost-effective and timely manner.
